Day 19
Nutrient Change

HydroRush Nutrient Change

Today was another milestone day for me. I experienced my first Nutrient Change.

Since my last visit two days ago I’m seeing significant growth (I’m continually amazed) so I have a lot to report.

To the left, Kevin Price is adding fresh General Hydroponics FloraNova Grow nutrients.

Something I learned today about adding Nutrients; Kevin adds his Nutrients based on his "Target" E.C. level. In our 30-gallon reservoir, Kevin’s E.C. target was 1.0. Once that was attained he then added our recommended dose of HydroRush.

Since the pepper plants have matured to Kevin’s satisfaction, he decided it was time to increase the dosage of HydroRush to 5 ml per gallon in the Hydroponic reservoirs and incrase the HydroRush dosage for the Soil watering to 8 ml per gallon.

See the Difference

HydroRush in Soil

Note that we’ve swapped the trays. The HydroRush samples are now on the left. This photo doesn’t do the plants justice but there is a slight difference between the two. The HydroRush plants are still fuller and have darker green leaves, but untreated pepper plants have done better the past two days.

HydroRush in Hydroponics

Well, I’m not a rocket scientist, but I can state what you can see here: the HydroRush pepper plants (now on the right) appear to be about 30% larger with much fuller greener leaves. (Click on the images to see the very large full size version)

Note: The trays have been swapped; so the HydroRush treated pepper plants are now on the left.
(When you click on these, they get really big so you can inspect them)

HydroRush HydroLogic Water Filter

Note the HydroLogic Water Filter at the top.

The E.C. of the non-filtered tap water was .045. When filtered it was .020.

That filter sure does what it’s supposed to do. There’s almost nothing to measure in the filtered tap water.
